At The Swedish History Museum, you can experience one of the world’s largest Viking exhibition, The Viking World, with exciting tales of the Viking Age, interactive stations to engage all the senses and thousands of amazing artefacts.
The exhibition covers almost a thousand square metres. It contains 2,500 original objects, the opportunity to explore a 12th century stave church using virtual reality, interactive stations with the themes of cosmology, shipbuilding and rune carving as well as endless exciting tales. All the objects, artefacts and texts can be accessed via mobile phone, tablet or computer, physically in the museum or at home.
During the summer, the museum’s courtyard is a hive of viking activites for the whole family. Come and try Viking Age crafts and games, bake bread or try your hand at holmgång, Norse dualling.
In the museum restaurant you can enjoy a bite to eat, a glass of wine or a good cup of coffee. During the summer, there is outdoor seating in a delightful, leafy courtyard. In the museum shop, you will find a selection of Viking replicas, handicrafts, jewellery, books, toys and souvenirs.
